General info about Yellowtail Blue Damsel

The Yellowtail Blue Damsel is a beautiful fish in bright-blue color with a yellow tail that fades into clear at edges. It is absolutely a reef-associated fish that lives in sheltered lagoons and inshore coral reefs with prolific coral growth. The Yellowtail Blue Damsel is well-known for living in small groups. It is highly recommended to keep it in groups of three or else it becomes territorial. For instance, if the Yellowtail Blue Damsel is the first one to be introduced in the tank, make sure that the tank is already filled with other inhabitants or else, this fish will start acting as a territorial and would create problems for others when they are placed in the aquarium. The Yellowtail Blue Damsel is considered to be least aggressive and using them to cycle your home tanks is not recommended. They are completely reef safe.
