Most reefers want to know which is the most profitable coral to grow. But this is a tricky question as it depends on your skill level.
Therefore, here is the list of the top 5 profitable beginner corals by Prestige Reef:
5. Pulsing Xenia
This is one of the most popular corals they buy for beginners due to their mesmerizing pulsing movement. However, when it comes to Xenia, the problem isn't growing it but finding someone to sell it to.
But this doesn't stop everyone, and plenty of people are still willing to take the risk.
Naturally, whenever corals are sold in bulk to a shop, there is less profit for the seller. However, this is far easier than having loads of people come to your house and sell them individually. So, it would help if you decided what's important.
Generally, your little Xenia frags will double in size, and providing that you can find a way to remove the extra growth from a tank easily, as getting your frags to attach to rock can be frustrating, is an excellent coral for this article.
4. Green Start Polyp
This is one of the best beginner corals you can get, which is why it has been a regular part of the reefing community since ht beginning.
Many variations come under the term gree start polyp, but the ultra metallic green polyp with the long term sells the best.
This can also be isolated on a rock or island from getting out of control.
3. Clove Polyp
Similar to Xenia, but without the same level of invasiveness, ththeseorals fare less risky and far more desirable to most refers.
Providing that you get the correct coloration, this coral can be highly sorted by both beginners and experienced reefers alive.
2. Mushroom Coral
They are not much reliable but great for profits. Some Mushrooms are invasive and grow out of control, whereas others can spend years being a single polyp.
The key is getting a happy medium. Its growth is also scalable.
1. Zoas
Zoas are hand down the fastest way to make money from your tank. But you have to be clever about how you do it. Most people will buy a frag, put it on the rock, and let it grow on the rock, and by the time they have 30 polyps, the price of that Zoa will plummet.
Getting Zoas right can be tricky. There are two options: find some commonly available desirable Zoas that everyone wants and try to propagate those, or find a new variation.
New variants of Zoas start with a high price, and that price gradually falls until it reaches a level of stability, and then that's the acceptable price for the type of Zoas. The key is getting an experience Zoa before everyone else has it, keeping it alive, and every time you can safely frag a polyp, cut it and sell it as a single head.
As soon as possible, to maximize the amount, you can make money until the price falls. The faster you can get your initial investment back, the better.
