These fishes prefer live and frozen food over commercial. You can train them for pellets and flakes, but you must slowly transition them to such food.
Apistogamma
They belong to the Cichlid family. These fishes are well known for their bright colors and amusing behavior. However, they are small in size (2-3 inches).
It's advised to keep only one pair of male and female in an aquarium. They are usually found in the slow-moving waters in South America and love to hide in plants—an excellent omnivore fish for your tank.
Aspidoras Spilotus
They are schooling fish and thrive when kept in a group of six. This will help them feel safer in the tank.
They are bottom-dwelling fish and spend most of their time scavenging for food, and you want to ensure you are feeding them. Don't just throw in flakes; give them a mix of food that sinks to the bottom.
Like corydoras, these fishes are peaceful, easy to care for, and generally smaller than Corydoras.
Rasboras
There are a lot of small spaces in Rasboras that are better for 10-gallon tanks than Tetras. Most are red, but you can also find them in several other colors.
They are schooling fish, so keep at least six of them, and you can do way more like Chilli Rasboras. They are pretty easy to care for, and love planted tanks.
They are small fish and have smaller mouths, so keep an eye on what you are feeding them if you have flakes crush them before feeding.
With smaller Rasboras, feeding smaller amounts multiple times daily is much better than one big feeding once daily. It's straightforward for them to get bloated because of their small stomachs.
